What this is
A single long operation rather than a book of spells: an eighteen-month regimen of prayer and withdrawal aimed at the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel, after which the practitioner is held able to command the spirits. It is the source of the Holy Guardian Angel idea that runs through modern Western magic.
