What this is
Not a book — a wall. The south colonnade of Hatshepsut's mortuary temple carries the fullest ancient record of the incense trade: the ships, the Puntite houses on stilts, the ruler and his wife, and Egyptians carrying LIVE MYRRH TREES slung on poles, which were replanted in the temple precinct. Aromatics as the object of a state expedition, carved in stone.
